A major rescue operation was underway late Thursday afternoon above Kandersteg (BE), due to an avalanche. Several people are likely to have been affected by the snow slide.
The cantonal police, who confirmed the information from 20Minutes to Keystone-ATS, were not immediately able to say whether there were any injuries.
The avalanche occurred at the height of the Oeschinensee. Specialists from the cantonal police were dispatched to the scene.
