Golden Coast. The mayor of Avallon continues to proclaim her innocence from Dijon prison

“After a month of silence, I wanted to express myself and reaffirm my innocence. I thank everyone who gave me their support, in particular the Avallonnaises. » It is in these terms that the mayor of Avallon (Yonne), Jamilah Habsaoui, spoke for the first time, in the columns of Republican Yonnesince her incarceration at the Dijon remand center on April 10, 2024. She is suspected of being involved in drug trafficking.

As a reminder, the home of the first councilor was searched at the beginning of April, as part of a “clearance” operation. At least 70 kg of cannabis were discovered there. Seven people were then placed in police custody, including Jamilah Habsaoui and two of her brothers.

“I will never compromise my integrity or my honor”

While the investigation is still ongoing, the mayor of Avallon assures “to have confidence in the justice of the Republic” and promises “complete cooperation, so that the truth comes to light and my innocence is officially recognized. »

And to continue: “Rest assured that I will never compromise either my probity or my honor. Just as I will never betray your trust. »
