However, the majority of citizens are against this project. This is known to everyone and we have mentioned it many times. I can say this, because I am one of the citizens who are going door to door in Sainte-Thècle to present a petition against the implementation of TES and an overwhelming majority signs the document.

However, I don’t feel like I’m being listened to honestly, I don’t have clear answers. We do not know the direction of our council on this matter.

Is this not a representation of our unequivocal refusal that the council should adopt? Isn’t that democracy?

I understand very well the pressure they must be under, but if we work together under the principles of democracy, this could be alleviated.

As for Pierre Fitzgibbon’s statements, following a request for support made by elected officials, let us say that they do not help in any way since there was in fact no support.

I feel cheated by a disproportionate project which attacks me, which attacks rurality as a whole, and this beyond TES Canada, by projects which are multiplying and which are shoved down our throats throughout the world. Quebec, without social acceptability…

The famous social acceptability that TES had promised without which the project would not see the light of day.

I will not return to all the economic, environmental and scientific issues of an open door to privatization, which have been discussed many times and which mainly invalidate this project of industrialization of our MRC by TES.

Why would we plunder what remains of beauty, of magnificent landscapes? Sainte-Thècle is a natural gem with high recreational and tourism potential. Don’t we need a refuge to connect with beauty in these difficult global times?

We don’t want industrial wind turbines higher than the Olympic stadium near residences, it seems to me that the message is clear!

Are we going to sell our territories, which themselves contribute very little to pollution, and give up the well-being of the population? Without forgetting the wildlife which once again will be molested and violated, all for the interests of multi-billionaires?

The impacts (health, wildlife, noise pollution, environment, landscapes) are poorly documented, but very well described by the people who experience them around the world.

We must apply the precautionary principle!

Yes to the energy transition, but a transition made with heart and discernment, with respect for our environment and the humans who live there.

These major projects should be carried out in non-inhabited areas, by Hydro-Québec. It seems to me that this is not difficult to understand. If it costs too much, then maybe it’s just too much…

There are alternative solutions on a human scale for decarbonization, which TES has not demonstrated until now. Experts have plenty to offer. Governments and people must follow.

Industrial wind turbines can never replace the pristine beauty of a region. A bundle of dollars for a few individuals will not bring peace, but rather division forever.

In the meantime, I look at the sky and the clouds. I hear the silence and the birds.

Let us not forget that the motto of the municipality of Sainte-Thècle is: “Pass while sowing good”.
