A woman was fatally stabbed on Sunday in Zurich. Suspected of the murder and on the run, her husband was arrested this Monday at the border with Germany.
The man suspected of killing a 29-year-old woman from Afghanistan on Sunday in Bülach (ZH) was arrested on Monday at the border crossing in Neuhausen (SH). The suspect, also from Afghanistan, is the victim’s husband. The murder weapon has not been found.
The 47-year-old man was arrested on Monday morning at the Neuhausen border crossing by agents of the Federal Office of Customs and Border Security (OFDT), Zurich cantonal police said on Monday. He was handed over to the Schaffhausen police and will be referred to the Zurich Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The man fled
On Sunday around 3 p.m., the police were informed that a woman with serious stab wounds was lying in front of the door of a house in Bülach. The emergency services provided first aid, but the emergency doctor could only confirm the woman’s death.
The suspected killer fled. The Zurich cantonal police then launched a search operation.
