South Vaucluse: let’s go for the Lire sur la Sorgue festival

There were lots of people there this Wednesday evening to attend the launch of the Lire sur la Sorgue festival and the first conference hosted by André Castelli. More than just a book festival, this event aims above all to highlight meetings, exchanges and discussions around different themes. This year more than ever, the organizers want to get involved around strong subjects within literature, namely sexuality, the place of narrative in history, the fight of women against different oppressions, places of memory, intimate commitments and collective struggles.

Thus, around forty conferences, readings, workshops and meetings are organized until Saturday with more than fifty authors and artists from all backgrounds, in four locations in Venice du Comtat, Campredon, Art Gallery, the Maison des Elders and the Bastidon. Pescaires.

Various themes

Reading on the Sorgue is also an event which is open to all, “including those who consider themselves non-readers“. The variety of guests and entertainment offered helps with this, there really is something for everyone.

Getting teenagers to read, feminism, discussions around the publishing profession, teenagers and sexuality… A rich and varied program. And given the success of the festival, you should think about reserving your place.

This year, the godmother is Catherine Meurisse, illustrator, press cartoonist and comic strip author. Julie Gayet, Hervé Le Tellier and Olivier Adam will also be present.
