A Cévennes episode should indeed hit these departments, this phenomenon which designates intense storms and rains in the south-east of France, from the Cévennes to the Alps.

“During the night from Monday to Tuesday, an active rain-storm episode will affect the Cévennes regions. A 12 hour alert

The end of the alert in these three departments is scheduled for Tuesday around 10 a.m., according to the public establishment.

Météo-France evokes a deterioration “fairly large-scale and unusual for the month of October” over the country, from New Aquitaine to Centre-Val de to the north-eastern quarter.

This type of episode, however, is not unusual in the Cévennes regions, underlines the forecaster.

Cévennes episodes occur on average three to six times per year, especially in autumn, and the duration of the phenomenon very rarely exceeds four days, recalls The Weather Channel.
