Appointment of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Telefilm Canada

As announced by the Honorable Pascale St-Onge, Minister of Canadian Heritage, Sylvain Lafrance, of Montreal, will join Telefilm Canada as Chairman of the Board of Directors on May 9, 2024.

With his expertise in media management and his significant contribution to digital innovation, Sylvain Lafrance is perfectly positioned to boost Telefilm Canada’s efforts in the promotion and development of the Canadian audiovisual sector. I wish him much success in carrying out his new responsibilities. I would like to take this opportunity to thank outgoing President Robert Spickler for his service to the organization over the past five years. Under his leadership, Telefilm Canada was able to meet the many challenges linked to the pandemic, and we are grateful to him. »

This announcement coincides with the departure of Mr. Robert Spickler, whose five-year mandate as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Telefilm Canada ends today. Mr. Spickler’s leadership has made an indelible contribution to the transformation of Canadian and Indigenous cinema.
