“Born from the merger, at the end of 2016, of the CCIs of Brest, Morlaix and Quimper, the CCI metropolitan Bretagne Ouest (CCIMBO) changes its name and becomes the CCI Finistère”, announces the governance of the consular chamber after having voted on the decision in assembly general in September, but which has been official since April 20. “This is about ensuring better reading and better visibility of a name whose meaning many did not know because it was difficult to locate geographically. It is also about bringing people together: this new name affirms a departmental unity, representing the territory as a whole,” indicates the CCI in a press release.
The missions of the CCI
The CCI Finistère is a public administrative establishment of the State whose headquarters is in Brest and has delegations in Brest, Morlaix and Quimper. The Chamber of Commerce says its missions are “to represent the interests of 44,000 Finistère businesses in commerce, tourism, industry and services to public authorities; information and support for businesses at each stage of their development; analyzing and carrying out studies for the benefit of all economic players”. It also implements “vocational training and graduation for managers, employees, young people and job seekers”. It also manages large facilities such as ports and airports.
