She is one of the seven Périgord athletes selected to carry the Olympic flame in Dordogne. Gaëlle Mignot, the current coach of the French rugby team will therefore be in the spotlight, on May 22, for what may remain “as a highlight of his career
sports ». The native of Périgueux studied in the department at the Trélissac club before joining Corrèze then the Montpellier rugby club in 2007, where she spent a large part of her career. A career where she had the chance to take the captain’s armband of the French women’s XV between 2014 and 2017.

The former hooker has a well-filled trophy cabinet with no less than five French championship titles with Montpellier, two Six Nations tournament titles, including a Grand Slam in 2014. With Les Bleues, she will manage to reach two third place in the World Cup. Once she hung up her boots, she embarked on a career as a coach at Montpellier Hérault rugby then, since 2022, in the French team. She works alongside David Ortiz.
