A equestrian and musical show grandiose. The Hauts-de-Seine department has set up a competition to attend “ Baroque gallop“, a gala created to mark the 100th anniversary of the 1924 Olympic Games which will be held on July 5 and 6, 2024 at the Haras de Jardy, in Marnes-la-Coquette. Ensured by the elite riders from the Cadre Noir de Saumur, the performance will be set to music by the musicians of the Insula Orchestra, under the baton of conductor Laurence Equilbey.

A quiz and a draw

To try to win two places among the 3,000 open places, all you have to do is respond to a short quiz. “A draw will take place among the correct answers under the aegis of a bailiff,” specifies the Hauts-de-Seine department. The competition is open to residents of the department only.

“We wanted to celebrate 100 years of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in
1924 which took place in Hauts-de-Seine. This exceptional representation, of which
will be able to enjoy the Alto-Séquanais, at the crossroads of the best of culture and sport, will live up to our desire to make these Games a great popular celebration in our
department,” explained Georges Siffredi, president of the department, in a press release.

Promote traditional French horse riding

The lucky winners will thus be able to discover the work of an institution of excellence. “The Cadre Noir, heir to a rich military past and imbued with ancestral equestrian cultureassumes with dedication its mission of preserving and promoting traditional French horse riding,” explains the department.

They will be carried by the Alto-Séquanais orchestra Insula Orchestra, which has resided in La Seine musicale since its founding in 2012 by Laurence Equilbey.
