The leaders of several countries have already announced their participation in the Bürgenstock (NW) Ukraine conference in mid-June, the FDFA announced. These are the presidents of Poland, Finland and Latvia, as well as the Spanish prime minister.
‘Switzerland is delighted with the participation’ of these four heads of state or government in the peace summit, writes the head of communications of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), Nicolas Bideau, in four messages published Tuesday on the social network
Mr. Bideau and the official DFA account republish messages in which the leaders of these countries announce their participation in the peace conference. Finnish President Alexander Stubb says he hopes that ‘as many of (his) colleagues as possible will be able to join’ the discussions.
On Friday, the head of the Italian government Giorgia Meloni had already confirmed her participation to the President of the Confederation Viola Amherd, speaking of a ‘very important initiative’, according to Valaisanne.
