Quebec will experience a turnaround in the situation this week and the weather conditions may please you.

The weekend won’t be wasted

Earlier this week, the forecast for Mother’s Day weekend was rather pessimistic. Grayness on the menu and cool weather. Quebec still finds itself in a trough, but the system which was expected to generate precipitation should pass south of the border. The new forecast has improved the hours of sunshine. However, the presence of cold air at altitude could generate clouds and a risk of showers is still on the menu.

Milder temperatures ahead

This week, the mercury will remain below normal, oscillating between 13 and 15 degrees in the south of the province. On the other hand, from May 14, the trend should be reversed since temperatures will remain around the 20 degree mark.

A different atmospheric context

The first 30 degrees in the country could be reached in the west this week. In fact, an anticyclonic ridge encourages an influx of warm air from the south. Conversely, to the east, a trough of cold air dominates.

IMPROVEMENT 2 – ATMOSPHERIC CONTEXT

With the collaboration of Bertin Ossonon and Carol-Ann Veilleux, meteorologists.
