There is no need to despair, the news is good.

Grit one’s teeth

This week, an atmospheric trough will allow cold air from the north to descend into Quebec. Temperatures are therefore likely to remain below normal through the weekend. In the west of the country, the exact opposite is happening. Heat from the Pacific rises to British Columbia and Alberta thanks to strong crescent. We must not despair and grit our teeth since the Belle Province will be entitled to its heat sequence very soon.

The desired threshold

At first glance, the forecast seems quite conservative. But according to certain models, maximums could easily exceed the threshold of 20°C in places in southern Quebec. This streak of warm weather is expected to begin next week and continue through the Patriots long weekend. In fact, meteorologists estimate a very high probability that a prolonged period with maximums of 20°C will occur. However, if this heat surge is more intense, the mercury could rise up to 25°C. According to experts, summer temperatures of 25°C and above are unlikely.

May and 20°C

It is in May that the average reaches the threshold of 20°C, around 20 for Montreal. This lasting streak of warm maximums may seem difficult to achieve given the cool weather of the last few weeks. Since the 1st of the month, Montreal has experienced three days with 20°C. Even if the atmospheric context does not always seem favorable, there is hope in the short term.
