Gathered in assembly, the PS City of Geneva designated two candidates for the election to the Administrative Council in spring 2025 on Tuesday evening. The outgoing Christina Kitsos will be accompanied by municipal councilor Joëlle Bertossa. Objective: retain the two socialist seats in the municipal executive.

Seven candidates – four women and three men – were candidates for the candidacy. Unsurprisingly, outgoing administrative councilor Christina Kitsos, 43, in charge of the department of social cohesion and solidarity, was appointed for a second term in the government of the first city in the canton of Geneva.

Keep a left-wing majority

She will campaign with Joëlle Bertossa, 51, cultural business manager. It will be up to this municipal councilor to allow the PS to retain the seat of the outgoing Sami Kanaan, who will have served three legislatures in the executive of the City of Geneva.

The PS Ville de Genève will fight to maintain a left-wing majority in the executive and municipal deliberative bodies. It also intends to remain the leading group in the Municipal Council, or even strengthen it.
