“We “set up” the competition independently, without an association strictly speaking. The advertising we did was mainly through Facebook,” explains Alain Breure straight away.
Le Voreysien co-organized a large gathering of fishermen, Wednesday May 8 and Thursday May 9, at the private lake of Saint-Front.
Real “big names” are expected
The two other organizers are Benjamin Pons, manager of the Alti-Pêche store in Chadrac, and Jean-Pierre Bosc, owner of Lake Saint-Front for four years, after taking over from his parents.
The event will bring together 15 teams of two participants with varied fishing methods: with a large rod, with a feeder, with an English style, with a franglaise and with a pole feeder. All white fish, carp and perch will be counted, unlike predators and trout, which will not be taken into account.
Already, and even if it has not been publicized, this competition will bring together real “big names”, in the words of Jean-Pierre Bosc.
Attractive prices but the weather as an X factor
A real opportunity for the three men to combine their passion for this activity with the discovery of the body of water and its surroundings. “We kept prices low enough to attract people,” assures Alain Breure. It will cost 90 euros for the two days, the Wednesday evening meal being included in the registration. »
For this first competition at Lake Saint-Front, the weather promises to be capricious. An aspect which does not call into question the holding of the event but which can complicate the task of the participants: “We have experienced fishermen who know that it is going to be difficult with these conditions, even if they know how to adapt”, insists Alain Breure.
Other tests of this type in project
This first event could lead to others, as Alain Breure confides: “We would like to do another competition later in the season but structured this time, with the help of the media. The goal being to have a high place in Haute-Loire which would not only concern pike or trout fishing, but which would be more diversified. »
