Maine-et-Loire: a Saumur police officer targeted by an investigation for pimping

The affair is a stain. A police officer from the Saumur police station (Maine-et-Loire) is suspected of having made apartments available to women engaged in prostitution, Ouest-France revealed on Friday May 3. Contacted by Le Parisien this Tuesday, May 7, the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) confirmed that an administrative investigation was underway into this matter, without giving further details.

A judicial investigation was also opened for “aggravated pimping” by the Saumur public prosecutor’s office, according to our colleagues from Ouest-France. A case on which Alexandre Verron, the city’s public prosecutor, contacted by Le Parisien, refused to comment.

The police officer, implicated in this pimping case, is suspected of having made accommodation that he managed available to prostitutes. According to our colleagues, the agent has since ceased this real estate activity.

He reportedly indicated that he had sold all the accommodation, between ten and 15 apartments in the Cadre Noir city.

The man was questioned by the general inspectorate of the national police (IGPN) on April 24, according to Ouest-France, which affirms that he has not been placed in police custody or sanctioned to date.
