Political figures targeted

The entrance gate to the cemetery in the village of Tourtoirac, as well as two calvaries, were also tagged. “Allah”, “cowards”, “I hate you”, “Martel will not come back”, can be read on graves according to photographs distributed by France Bleu Dordogne. Some inscriptions also attack political figures: Meyer Habib, described as a “Zionist”, Jordan Bardella (“racist”), Eric Zemmour (“Jew”), Marine Le Pen (“fascho”).

Previous degradations

“These facts were compared to previous damage by inscriptions observed in the sector since December 19,” underlines prosecutor Jacques-Edouard Andrault, adding that the gendarmerie investigation is continuing to identify the perpetrator(s) of the facts.

On March 11, around fifty graves were defaced in the Clermont-d’Excideuil cemetery, 13 km away.
