Nuit Blanche 2024: a gigantic eye observes us at the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris

The Museum of Arts and Crafts opens its doors free of charge to all visitors, this Saturday June 1, 2024, on the occasion of the 22nd edition of Nuit Blanche.

This year again, for our greatest pleasure, the Museum of Arts and Crafts participates in the White Night of Paris, with astonishing programming suitable for the whole family. This Saturday June 1, 2024we therefore take advantage of a free visit to the museum to (re)discover its exceptional collections.

THE Museum of Arts and Crafts is one of the most fascinating places for young people and the very curious. There is a large collection honoring industrial and technological creations. This collection, one of the oldest in the world, includes the Aeroplane, known as Plane No. 3 by Clément Ader (1897), Foucault’s pendulum (1851), Pascal’s Arithmetic Machine (1642-1652), the Gasometer by Lavoisier (1787), the model of the first sewing machine by Thimonnier (1830) but also the model of the “Telstar 1” telecommunications satellite and other technical and technological innovations of the 20th century.

During this artistic night exceptional, the Museum of Arts and Crafts has planned a special program, which should fascinate young and old visitors… The works and historical pieces of the place should be put in the spotlight, in an unusual and innovative project, but very mysterious. To find out more, you have to go there!

On the program for this 2024 All-Nighter at the Musée des Arts et Métiers:

  • The Eye of the Sun by the artist Ikse Maître and the Vues de l’esprit collective
Free and free entry without registration
Curiosity is one of the most powerful and laudable human drives: it drives exploration, investigation and learning. The Eye of the Sun installation combines science, technology, imagination and daydreaming to target the special relationship that humans have with the cosmos.
A gigantic eye whose behavior is similar to that of the human eye, it highlights our thirst for knowledge and discovery of our environment. Curious, the Eye observes and follows with its gaze the visitors who arrive and approach. He is sensitive to their gestures, to their touch. Engaging, it fits with the curiosity shown by some of the visitors and it allows them to see the Sun that we never see, at its ultraviolet extremes.

An intriguing outing, which should excite young and old alike! A wonderful family visit awaits you.
