At the end of these six years of investigation, nearly 70,000 visitors were consulted in 102 museum institutions in Quebec, which has nearly 400 throughout the territory.
Since the start of the SMQ summer surveys in 2018, the general satisfaction rate for visits to Quebec museums has remained between 97% and 98%. Inseparable from this success, the courtesy of the staff was praised by 90% of those questioned, who said they were very satisfied with it. And it is precisely thanks to the involvement of these professionals working to transmit knowledge that museums are recognized as sources of discoveries and enriching experiences, which contribute to the power of attraction of their region as well as to the Quebec economy. Among the other reasons for the visit, those surveyed mentioned interest in themes, artifacts and the discovery of other peoples or communities. The pronounced taste for outdoor activities and sites, architecture or guided tours, attests to the public’s desire to learn.
