SENEGAL-WORLD-DIPLOMATIE-MEDIAS / APS signed a partnership agreement with the OIC Information Department – Senegalese Press Agency

Banjul, May 5 (APS) – The Director General of the Senegalese Press Agency (APS), Thierno Ahmadou Sy, and the Acting Director of the Information Department of the OIC General Secretariat, Dr. Abdelhamid Salhi, signed, Sunday, in Banjul, a partnership agreement on the sidelines of the work of the 15th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The objective of this convention is to allow the APS to offer greater visibility to initiatives from the Muslim world in Senegal and Africa.
“Today we signed a first memorandum of understanding between the information department and the Senegalese Press Agency as part of media cooperation,” said Dr. Abdelhamid Salhi during the signing ceremony at the Center international conference Dawda Kairaba Jawara.
“We wish to build solid cooperation in the media field,” said the acting director, hoping that the partnership with the APS will make it possible to popularize the action and projects of the OIC in Senegal and in the western sub-region. -African.

The Director General of APS declared that it is an honor for him to sign this partnership.

“We made a commitment to respect the terms of this agreement so that the OCI and the Senegalese Press Agency can work hand in hand and produce convincing results,” said Thierno Ahmadou Sy.

He stressed that this signing ceremony is the culmination of a process begun with the consent of the Senegalese authorities, notably the Ministry of Communication and that of Foreign Affairs.

According to him, “the State of Senegal has validated this partnership knowing that the OIC plays an important role for the umma but for all Muslim countries”.

Mr. Sy assured that the structure he heads will do what is necessary to materialize the will of the OIC media department through its various media.

“The OIC Information Department, understanding the role that the Senegalese Press Agency can play in its strategy, in its work, signed this agreement with us, here in Banjul, on the occasion of the Summit of the OIC. Which is still symbolic,” he said.
