It all starts on Sunday September 29, 2024 in Bernay (Eure) when the police saw, in the afternoon, a vehicle crossing a traffic light which had just turned red.
Stolen car
The soldiers try to intercept him, but the driver refuses to comply. A chase gets involved and a system is put in place to try to stop the fugitive.
Thirty minutes later, it was finally in Calvados that the car was stopped by the surveillance and intervention platoon of the gendarmerie (Psig) of Lisieux.
Two residents of the Bernay sector are inside. The one behind the wheel, a man born in 1982, is under the influence of drugs (like his passenger) and no longer holds a driving license. He struggles and attacks the gendarmes at the time of his arrest. It also turns out that the vehicle was stolen from Les Andelys.
On remand
The two individuals are placed in custody. The driver was to be tried in immediate appearance to the judicial court d’Évreux, but the hearing was postponed until November 20, his lawyer having requested a delay for prepare your defense. He was placed in pre-trial detention pending trial.
As for his passenger, aged 54, he is summoned by the Évreux public prosecutor on December 4.
