Haute-Savoie. 0800 112 112, the new unique emergency callback number to which you must respond

0800 112 112 is the new phone number you absolutely need to know. If the latter appears on your phone, an emergency service is trying to contact you! Neither wild canvassing nor attempted scam, it is important (and perhaps vital) to respond.

Since 1is October, emergency and rescue services benefit from this new single common number in the event of a call (or callback) from them. Poor quality communication, disconnected telephone, need for additional information, there are many cases requiring a call back from the emergency services.

And if they need to call you back, they will now do it from this number. 0800 112 112 (or 08 00 11 21 12, depending on how your phone displays it) has been active since this Tuesday in Haute-Savoie, like everywhere in . It concerns firefighters as well as the SAMU, the police and the Gendarmerie.

Please note, emergency call numbers do not change

Please note, the numbers to contact the emergency services do not change: 15 for SAMU, 17 for the police and gendarmerie, 112 (European emergency number) or 18 for the firefighters.

The easiest way not to forget 0800 112 112 is to save it in your directory under the name Emergency service, for example. So, in the event of a call, we know who is on the other end of the line. Another piece of advice: if you, in turn, wish to contact the emergency service that you spoke to on the telephone, you must use the short number dialed initially, and not the one who may have called back.

This unique callback number (free, let us point out) is explained for practical reasons, the first being to comply with the fight against canvassing. It was necessary to determine a unique number so that telephone operators could identify it and not categorize it with all the call numbers deemed polluting, commercial or unwanted.
