Faced with the increase in thefts, aesthetic professionals in Montigny-le-Bretonneux, Saint-Germain-en-Laye and Neauphle-le-Château () are getting organized. Several of them working in hair salons or nail salons have been victims of theft. The thugs particularly target these businesses, reports The Parisian this Tuesday. They often have counters at the entrance and remote workstations.

Anything to distract the victims

Cell phones are particularly targeted. The thieves pretend to want to make an appointment for their wife and then distract the victims. To do this, they start speaking another language or pull out a large picture of a fingernail, used to cover the phone on the counter. “I was obsessed by his words, I didn’t pay attention,” testified the manager of a nail salon.

Several investigations are underway. Faced with the increase in these devious thefts, several professionals have strengthened the security of their businesses, installing cameras or locking the doors. They do not hesitate to share their experience on social networks and even the faces of the thieves, captured by video surveillance.
