Lhe 2023 vintage has everything to please French and European palates: lower alcohol levels, acidities and pH levels which ensure freshness and tension while guaranteeing good aging, lots of flavors, fine tannins. In short, the return of classic Bordeaux, without the heaviness of overly sunny vintages nor the leanness of sulky years, heavily watered when it should not be. It should be added that, from now on, we are far from the “always more” years of woody toast and grape jam. A real pleasure to taste, this 2023 still a teenager!

And the prices of very great wines are down significantly: less 30%, even less 40% for the stars. Decreases which, during the release under Covid 2019, caused a rush among fans worthy of a sale of Nutella pots at Lidl. In May 2024, for the moment, it is dead calm and bleak plain. What is going on ? Not much to celebrate internationally, nothing to encourage rushing out to buy some festive wine.
