In front of 1,800 spectators at the Acclameur on Saturday April 20, AS Niort took on the leader Garonne for its last match of the season at home (81-72), at the same time renewing its lease in Nationale 2. A huge relief for president Ludovic Bourguignon whose club will play in this division for a seventh year in a row.
Debache and Lhériau absent
The season was very complicated, notably with the late arrival of Sidibé in November due to administrative problems and repeated injuries which complicated things, particularly in terms of squad rotations.
Before looking ahead to the 2024-2025 financial year, the Yellow and Blue must play one last match this Saturday, May 4 in Horsarrieu, in the Landes. One last push to give before leaving on vacation with the feeling of duty accomplished.
Debache and Lhériau will not be present for this last meeting due to wrist pain.
Laurent Hay will certainly take advantage of this to rotate his squad in order to give playing time to those who have not played much this season.
This is the last match for a group which will have managed to get out of this group where the density and competition were strong, welcomes the Niort coach. We finally ensured our survival by beating the leader at the Acclameur, which is a great satisfaction.
