It was hot (too hot?) for the first of October this Tuesday in the Var. According to the site Var weatherremarkable temperatures were recorded in the department this afternoon, notably 29.4°C in Cotignac (Haut-Var). It was “quite simply the hottest sector in mainland France today“, according to the weather site. Its founder Yohan Laurito explains to France Bleu Provence that there have already been temperatures above 30 degrees on October 1st in the Var, but those observed this Tuesday are however 5 to 7 degrees higher than seasonal norms.
This is not the only town in the department where thermometers showed summer temperatures this Tuesday: 27.9°C in Plan-de-la-Tour, 27.8°C in Vidauban, 27.6°C in Taradeau, 27.4°C in Salernes , 27.3°C in La Motte, 27.2°C in Brignoles and Villecroze, 27.1°C in Le Luc, 26.9°C in Collobrières, Saint-Antonin and Cabasse or even 26.8°C in Puget-Ville and Besse-sur- Isolate.
After this exceptional day, the clouds should take over by this Tuesday evening, but temperatures still close to 25-26 degrees are expected this Wednesday in the Var.
