The Ministry of the Interior initiated the dissolution procedure on Wednesday, May 1, against the Remparts, an ultra-right Lyon movement, born in September 2021. In a publication, the identity group denounces a “violation of fundamental liberties”.
The decision to soon dissolve the identity group the Remparts does not pass through their ranks. The ultra-right group published a press release yesterday in which it denounces a violation of fundamental freedoms. “Their desire to dissolve us is further proof of our success: we are right and we are disrupting“. The Remparts indicate that they are working with Asla, the identity defense association for “study the possibilities of contesting this arbitrary decision which violates fundamental freedoms“.
Les Remparts, a group founded in 2021 on the ashes of Génération Identitaire, dissolved by the State, as well as the associations which manage the bar La Traboule and the adjoining sports hall, called l’Agogé, are affected by this procedure.

A decision set in the coming weeks
The procedure for dissolving the small ultra-right group based in Old Lyon was reportedly initiated on Wednesday May 1 by the Ministry of the Interior. The leaders of the movement, which was founded in 2021 following the dissolution of Génération Identitaire, would have been notified this Wednesday of the start of the procedure. The dissolution should be pronounced in the coming weeks by the Council of Ministers. A decision welcomed by the City. Grégory Doucet, mayor of Lyon, congratulates the Minister of the Interior. “We must fight together, all political forces combined, against the enemies of the Republic,” writes the councilor on the social network X.
