In Caen (Calvados), the Ovalie women’s rugby club, headed by president Arnaud Laurent, is doing everything it can to offer young people weeks of activities and training courses during the school holidays. Thus, the first week of these spring holidays was devoted to a week of activities with a final tournament, as part of the “Invite your friends and family” system.

For the second week, thirty-nine young people aged 4 to 15, including ten girls, registered. They were welcomed at 9 a.m., Monday April 29, 2024, by the president of the club and by Guillaume Antoine, head of the rugby school in charge of the course and Corentin Marie, sports director of the club.

Rugby and mini-Olympics

“Around fifteen young people from the neighborhood were welcomed free of charge. Five other trainees are part of the reception center for asylum seekers, said Guillaume Antoine. Welcomed from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, the children played rugby in the morning, with multiple activities, and in the afternoon in mini-Olympics. » The club also surprised all the trainees for a day at the Festyland amusement park in Bretteville-sur-Odon.
