It’s a real final phase match that the Dacquoises will play this Sunday at Joué-lès-Tours (3 p.m.). Indeed, a victory in Tours by more than seven points, combined with a defeat for the Coyotes 94 against the La Rochelle leaders, would allow the Pachys to maintain their position even before the last day against the Coyotes, on May 19. A prospect that was unthinkable just a few weeks ago. But a return to form to be confirmed in another poorly ranked team, winner in the first leg (12-19). Chris Ndombi and his players once again have “their destiny in hand”.

You have relaunched yourself in the race to maintain, how do you approach this end of the season?

I see a great end to the season since we have our destiny in hand. This maintenance will happen through our excellent state of mind and our game. The game that we have been offering from the start and which is truly our philosophy.

How were you able to relaunch the team?

We continued to work, we readjusted. We have done a little reorganization in terms of our operation. We had to make the girls aware that it was not over and that we had to move forward. We talked about humility and got back to work.

In the event of a victory by more than seven points at Joué-lès-Tours, the Pachys will officially be maintained.

Isabelle Louvier/ “SOUTH WEST”

In these moments, what is the role of a manager?

It’s about finding solutions match after match with challenges. The most complicated thing is perhaps keeping the workforce afloat because it’s hard. When you’re in a negative spiral, when you’re ready but you’re not winning, it’s very difficult. We continue with the staff and the group to look for solutions so that no one gives up.

Have you found the right formula for team composition, after several rotations due to injuries and poor form?

We found the right formula, or at least on this block, with good dynamics and the return to form of certain elements. Some girls take responsibility, and revelations this season have found their place.

How are you preparing the team for this extremely important match, which is akin to a final phase meeting with the end result?

We don’t change much because we don’t want to disrupt everything. We also had to recover from the trip to the Coyotes 94. We will have to play rugby, we will have to put our game in place to be an actor. It’s a high-stakes match, a real semi-final which will allow us to play a final to stay at home against the Coyotes 94. We take this match very seriously…
