The 2023 activity report of the Phosboucraa Foundation reveals a year marked by structuring initiatives in the fields of education, entrepreneurship, agriculture and infrastructure, with measurable impacts for the communities of the Saharan provinces of Morocco.
Education and training: the future of young people as a priority
In 2023, the Foundation strengthened its actions in favor of education, with a clear objective: to improve the employability of young people and facilitate their access to quality training. Among the flagship initiatives:
- School and university scholarship program : 82 students have benefited from scholarships to pursue their higher education, 50% of whom are young women, thus contributing to parity in access to education.
- Vocational training centers : The foundation supported the training of 120 young people in key sectors such as engineering, information technology and business management, with a professional integration rate of 70% for graduates.
- Academic partnerships : In collaboration with international institutions, the foundation has financed educational exchange programs that have enabled 40 students southern provinces to acquire skills abroad.
Entrepreneurship and innovation: support for local project leaders
The promotion of entrepreneurship is at the heart of the Phosboucraa Foundation’s strategy. In 2023, several actions have made it possible to support private initiative and innovation in the Saharan regions.
- Phosboucraa Incubator : 70 young entrepreneurs were supported as part of this incubation program. These young project leaders benefited from tailor-made support, ranging from training to fundraising, and 25 start-up were created thanks to this support.
- Project financing : A fund of 10 million of DH was allocated to support local small and medium-sized businesses. This funding has created more than 200 direct jobs in sectors such as commerce, tourism and services.
Sustainable agriculture: modernization of agricultural practices
Agriculture, a vital sector in the southern regions, has also benefited from the support of the foundation through several projects aimed at improving productivity while respecting ecological issues.
- Agricultural development projects : In collaboration with local cooperatives, 500 farmers were trained in modern agricultural practices, including drip irrigation and the use of more environmentally friendly production techniques.
- Support for cooperatives : 15 cooperatives benefited from technical and financial assistance, which made it possible toincrease agricultural production by 20% in the Laâyoune region. In addition, 120 jobs were created in the livestock and market gardening sectors.
Infrastructure and community projects
The Phosboucraa Foundation has also invested in infrastructure projects, aimed at improving access to essential services for residents of the Saharan provinces.
- Construction d’infrastructures sociales : Three new community health centers were built, serving more than 15,000 people. Moreover, two primary schools have been renovatedoffering optimal learning conditions for nearly 600 children.
- Leisure infrastructure : A new sports and cultural complex was inaugurated in Boujdourwith a capacity of 1,000 people, allowing young people to access modern facilities.
In 2023, the Phosboucraa Foundation has reached more than 20,000 people, who have benefited directly or indirectly from its actions. To support its various projects, the foundation has invested a total of 85 million DH. These initiatives also enabled the creation of 320 direct and indirect jobs, mainly within the framework of economic and agricultural development programs.
