Amiens Métropole celebrates cycling throughout the month of May 2024

Juntil May 31, 2024, Amiens Métropole participates in the national holiday “May by bike”. An operation, launched by the Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Ministry responsible for Sports in May 2020, which aims to bring people together around cycling, so that it is used and adopted everywhere in France, by everyone, the rest of the year. Amiens Métropole and its partners offer events throughout the month, including a highlight on Saturday May 4.

On the program: an entertainment village (rue des Trois-Cailloux, place René-Goblet and rue de Noyon) with bike rides, eco-citizen carousel and brass band; a 25 km cycle tour to Lœuilly (departure from 1:30 p.m. from the Union des randonneurs Picards stand, rue de Noyon) and intergenerational recumbent bike rides (departure from the stand at Place René-Goblet). Also planned are a BMX demo on rue des Trois-Cailloux, free bike marking (in the morning by Buscyclette), customization of bells and t-shirts, a musical stroll in the afternoon by the mini-brass fanfare …

Three exhibitions

In addition, exhibitions are held throughout the month in different locations: “Everyday cycling feels good! » until May 31, rue des Troix-Cailloux; The Châteaudun velodrome (1895-1913) from May 4 to May 25 at the Louis-Aragon library 50, rue de la République (free entry); “Picard cyclists from yesterday to today” from May 4 to May 25 at the Louis-Aragon library (free entry).
