“It’s very high-level equipment with state-of-the-art equipment,” jubilantly Victor Valentevice-president of the Pays de Fontainebleau (Seine-et-Marne), in charge of sports. The agglomeration and the Department inaugurated a new indoor rowing space, Monday September 23, at the Magdeleine nautical basein Samois-sur-Seine.

An investment of nearly €209,000, which will benefit the Fontainebleau agglomeration nautical association (Anfa). The work consisted of thermal and sound insulation of the building, made it accessible for people with disabilities, but also financed the purchase of specific equipment.
The new room has 20 connected rowers for initiation and competition, but also four rowers dedicated to competition which can imitate the instability of a boat on the water, or two simulators for high level .
“It’s a very rare material in France,” underlines Hubert Turquetthe president of Anfa. This new room allows for in-depth training, both for improvement and for beginners’ learning, since we also welcome a school audience. »
Inaugurated in 2019, the Magdeleine nautical base benefits some 200 members, not counting external audiences, and this new room completes the equipment of the site. “We are open from 1is January to December 31, to audiences of all ages, thanks to the involvement of our many volunteers,” continues the president.
On the urban side, Pascal Gouhoury recalls that this equipment “is a legacy of the Olympic Games, since the nautical base was a preparation center for the Games: this room will be used by all practitioners and will allow the development of rowing, already very established in the region. »
And Bouchra Fenzar-Rizki, vice-president in charge of sports at the Department, adds: “With Team 77, the objective was also to support the clubs of Seine-et-Marne to enable them to shine ever more in their disciplines. »
The club will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2025
An inventory which corresponds well to Anfa, whose rowers shine on the international scene. Latest example: the bronze medal obtained by Cornélus Palsma this summer in Canada, during the under-23 world championships.
In addition to competition, the club offers a wide range of activities, from leisure to rowing on medical prescription and now indoor rowing. Next year, the club will also offer festivities to celebrate the centenary of the association.
