Pia Imbs, president of the Strasbourg Eurometropolis, was installed by the decree of April 30, 2024 “appointing the board of directors of the Agency for the financing of transport infrastructure in France (AFIT)” as administrator of AFIT.
She will sit alongside François Durovray, president of the Essonne departmental council, Michel Neugnot, vice-president of the Burgundy – Franche-Comté region (3 local elected members of the CA) and Franck Leroy, president of the Grand Est region, as a qualified personality, proposed by the President of the Republic for the presidency of AFIT.
Pia Imbs reacts in these terms: “Becoming an administrator of AFIT, which manages a budget of more than 5 billion euros to finance major transport infrastructures in France, essentially validated through State-Region plan contracts, is a great pride and a responsibility that I take with determination, pragmatism and a desire for neutrality in the choices that will fall to me. »
And added: “More than myself, it is Strasbourg’s expertise in the deployment of transport infrastructure which is highlighted here and the sense of partnership which has enabled us to deploy an ambitious policy (REME , tramway, development of the autonomous port of Strasbourg, urban logistics, multimodal exchange hubs, carpooling lanes, bicycle plan, etc.)”.
