A police officer opened fire on a vehicle which drove into them after refusing to comply, Wednesday May 1, in Bordeaux (Gironde), Le Parisien learned from a police Source. The driver, injured in both knees, was transported to Libourne hospital, but his life is not in danger.
An investigation was opened by the Bordeaux public prosecutor’s office and entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (DCOS).
Wednesday evening around 10:30 p.m., in Bordeaux, a motorist refused to obey the police and fled. The police quickly noticed that the vehicle was falsely registered and had been reported stolen. A chase begins during which the driver crosses several municipalities in the department to Vayres, located in the gendarmerie zone.
At that moment, the driver deliberately hit the vehicle of the Bordeaux anti-crime brigade (BAC) with three police officers on board. One of the officers fired four times at the suspect’s car. The latter was hit in both knees.
But the man restarts and hits the BAC car again, before being arrested and transported to Libourne hospital. A second investigation should be entrusted to the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN) to determine the circumstances of the use of the weapon by the police officer.
