The idea? “To discover in a subtle and artistic way the artistic professions, the fashion professions in particular, contribute to making them desirable and try to encourage vocations“, explains Lysandre, in charge of communications for the Galerie du 19M located in , which is therefore holding an exhibition “outside the walls” in the Phocaean city, echoing the Chanel fashion show expected today on the roof of the Cité radieuse.

Embroiderers, weavers, feather workers, groomsmen, shoe makers, hatters and even shapers will be highlighted through numerous innovative works which can be browsed. Among these works, those of Claude Como, an established artist who specializes in tufting, a technique of weaving wool using a gun. She works to cover the walls of these monumental installations with textiles, and immerses us in her oversized plant world.

Bella Hunt and Dante Calce pay homage to mechanics by presenting three metal steering wheels with their ornaments that mix Japanese tuning, Carolingian art and damascene patterns. The ruffles become real jewels. Delphine Dénéréaz combines the art of traditional lirette weaving (from scrap fabric) with her pop and colorful universe. She invites us to discover her project around the aquatic world. In her weavings, she notably incorporates chains and beads from dormant stocks from the Goossens goldsmith’s house.

Strong universes, like that of Théophile Peris who works wool as a raw material, with woolen fleeces. He designs large wall and free-standing installations. The result is surprising works, made in Provence, which attest to unsuspected know-how and the great dynamism of the artistic scene. Some artists have even seen the possibility of collaborating with Parisian art houses… Note that embroidery workshops will be offered, from Thursday to Sunday, to a public who will be able to learn some techniques and, who knows, reveal their hidden talents .

From May 3 to 26, at Fort Saint-Jean du Mucem. Every day except Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Inaugural roundtable tomorrow, at 11 a.m. FREE ENTRANCE.
