Mobilization for Gaza: a general assembly of students this Thursday evening in Amiens

The student unions are organizing a general meeting this Thursday evening on the Citadelle campus, in Amiens. The opportunity to determine the continuation of the mobilization for Gaza, after a first rally in support of the Palestinians and to demand a ceasefire organized quickly on Tuesday evening.

If the rally brought together around sixty demonstrators, at the call of Unef, the Student Union and Student Solidarity, the unions hope that the movement will spread, especially after the mobilizations of several other establishments, from Sciences Po to the Sorbonne. “Today, there is a student movement. Universities are also on the front line on these issues, because we have a responsibility as students to actually defend a kind of freedom: freedom of expression, but also freedom of thought, freedom to defend the truth” indicated this Wednesday Akhane, departmental co-delegate of Solidaires 80 and member of Student Solidaires, on the sidelines of the May 1 demonstration.

The continuation and forms that the support movement will take must now be determined by the students, during the general assembly which must be held from 6 p.m.
