The 2023-2024 season comes to an end this Saturday for the JSA Bordeaux with the reception at the Palais des Sports in Pornic-Saint-Michel. A half-baked season for the Bordelais who alternated the very good, like the victory on the Garonne floor, and the less good, like the setbacks at home against Saint-Georges-de-Montaigu or more recently against Niort.

However, the club had announced it as being a transitional season based on a young group looking to the future. Moreover, the Bordeaux coach, Matthieu Hubert, recognizes the progression of his group over the matches: “It is a young team which has been able to stay together to maintain and progress”.

Without pressure

Currently tenth with a record of 11 wins and 14 losses, the Bordelais will want to end the championship with a final success against the Loire-Atlantique team, and thus please their supporters one last time.

The mission seems playable against a Pornic team that is certainly third in the standings but which seems to have been coasting for several matches. Indeed, the teammates of Samuel Alouekey, author of 25 points at Dax-Gamarde, remain on a series of three defeats and a record of only one victory in the last six matches.

Matthieu Hubert hopes for a great final performance from his players and of course wins: “We want to put on a great show in an almost full sports hall. It will be a rather offensive match,” he predicts.

The game

JSA Bordeaux MB (10are/36 pts) – Pornic Basket Saint-Michel (3e/40 pts) this Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Palais des Sports in Bordeaux.
