IN IMAGES, IN PICTURES. 2,500 people marched for the May 1 demonstration in Dijon

They were fewer than last year but no less motivated! This Wednesday, the unions took to the streets for the traditional May 1st demonstration. They were 2,500 according to the unions and 2,000 according to the police, pounding the streets in Dijon, between Place Wilson and Place de la République.

A demonstration to defend the workers’ rights but also the freedom of people : we could see in particular Palestinian flags and signs demanding a ceasefire in Gaza. Several political parties and human rights collectives also joined the procession.

And the unions did not only gather in Dijon. They were 300 in Chalon-sur-Saône and Mâcon, 150 in Montbard, 100 in Montceau-les-Mines and Gueugnon, and 80 at Le Creuset.
