Olivier Lafargue, about Sarah Michel-Boury, who is leaving Bourges Basket: “As she likes to close mouths, she has always held on”

Since the arrival of Olivier Lafargue as coach of Bourges Basket in 2017, only one player was still at the club this season: Sarah Michel-Boury. While she has just announced her departure, coach Berruyer mentions the woman who was her captain.

Sarah Michel-Boury was the last player to be present since your arrival in 2017. Does this illustrate her importance in your system?

She has always been central to the project we set up. She was central at the beginning to create this project. I had wanted to work with Sarah for so long that it was a bit difficult to get through. There were people in place with a very good reputation, who were very good players in that position, but I wanted to install Sarah calmly, calmly in the team. And then, the more we progressed, the more important she became, the more she started to show everyone what we thought of her, with the staff, when we took her on. His efficiency on the court, his basketball IQ, his leadership. This led him, despite some adventures, to the captaincy of the French team. And that’s something great.
