Baku (Azerbaijan), April 30 (APS) – A significant number of international delegations, representatives of supranational organizations and intellectuals from the world of culture are taking part in the sixth World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, which opens on Wednesday, learned the APS special correspondent.

”Dialogue for peace and global security: cooperation and interconnection” is the theme of the sixth edition of this international event scheduled for three days.

Participants are thus expected to debate through a series of plenary sessions and discussion panels to examine global challenges relating to civilizational dialogue and cooperation to combat hatred and promote the values ​​of coexistence and peace, explained the organizers in a document presenting the event.

Thus, after the official opening ceremony planned at the Baku Convention Center, participants will open discussions on cooperation and leadership in terms of interconnectivity and on taking advantage of “soft power”. ‘ to strengthen the multilateral vision, solidarity and resist fragmentation.

Alongside these panels, the 6e Baku forum will be punctuated by cultural activities, including concerts, festivals and performances, to highlight and celebrate cultural diversity, and strengthen the spirit of collaboration and understanding.

The holding of this forum is part of the implementation and role of the “Baku Process”, presented as an essential global platform dedicated to the promotion of cooperation and intercultural dialogue.

The United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution in 2017 recognizing this initiative by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev as “an important mechanism for strengthening intercultural dialogue”.

The five previous editions of the Forum were marked by the organization of more than 250 activities and the participation of nearly 10,000 personalities representing 180 States and 30 international organizations, recalled the organizers of the event.
