The Haute-Garonne prefecture announced, in a decree on Tuesday April 30, 2024, that Montpellier supporters will not be able to go to the match between TFC and MHSC, Friday May 3, 2024, at the Toulouse Stadium (Haute-Garonne), by “security measures”.

The visitor parking lot risks ringing hollow, Friday May 3, 2024 at the Toulouse Stadium (Haute-Garonne). And for good reason, Montpellier HSC supporters will not be able to be present at the match between their team and TFC at 7 p.m.

A decree from the Prefect of Occitanie and Haute-Garonne announced that by “security measures”every person “claiming their status as supporters of the MHSC” Travel is prohibited in the city of Toulouse, as well as around and inside the Stadium. This, from Friday May 3, 8 a.m., to Saturday May 4, 8 a.m.

The Prefecture also informs motorists of the closure from the Pierre de Coubertin bridge from 4 p.m., until the start of the match, then again at the end of the match “to allow the evacuation of the public”.

The Montpellier residents were in fact sanctioned by the LFP, following their bad behavior this season. It all started with a firecracker, thrown last November from the stands of the Mosson stadium in Montpellier, at the Clermont Foot goalkeeper. The confrontations between supporters of the MHSC and Clermont-Ferrand left their mark.

This is not the first time that, during Ligue 1 matches, the movement of supporters has been prohibited to avoid violence and clashes. In December 2023, the Ministry of the Interior banned the movement of supporters for 5 matches on the 15th day of Ligue 1, including PSG – FC Nantes.
