Dakar, April 30 (APS) – Senegal and Guinea Bissau took advantage of the friendship and working visit of the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, to discuss ways to “strengthen centuries-old relations” between Dakar and Bissau, informs the Senegalese presidency.

President Faye arrived this Tuesday morning in Bissau for a working and friendship visit, the third he has made to the sub-region since coming to power in early April.

”Shortly after his arrival in the sister Republic of Guinea-Bissau, the head of state had a tête-à-tête with his Guinea-Bissau counterpart (…)”, reports the Senegalese presidency. She indicates that this tête-à-tête was ”followed by a meeting between the two delegations to discuss subjects aimed at strengthening the centuries-old relations between Senegal and Guinea-Bissau”.

“Various areas of cooperation were reviewed during the discussions: agriculture, fishing, training and sharing of experiences in strategies to combat poverty,” according to the same Source.

President Bassirou Diomaye Faye reserved his first exit from the national territory to Mauritania, whose head of state holds the presidency of the African Union (AU).

After Nouakchott, he went to Banjul on April 20 for an official visit.
