The American e-commerce giant claims to have become “the leading net creator of jobs in France”.

The cuts of 25,000 jobs last year worldwide, then of a few hundred positions at Prime Video and the MGM studios last January, do not prevent Amazon from continuing its recruitment in France. Human resources managers, IT specialists, experienced software developers, logistics operations managers, order preparers… After hiring 2,000 people last year, the American e-commerce giant plans to create a net 2,000 additional positions in CDI by the end of the year, which will bring the number of its employees in France to more than 24,000. Varied, these new jobs mainly concern distribution centers located in the Île-de-France, Hauts-de-France and Grand Est regions.

We have invested more than 20 billion euros in our French activities since 2010. Thanks to these investments, Amazon has become the leading net creator of jobs in France, says Frédéric Duval, general manager of Amazon.fr. For ten years, there has not been a single year where we have not increased the workforce in France. » And, in five years, the group has more than doubled its workforce in France, where it now has 35 logistics sites located throughout the country.

The jobs generated are a manifestation of interest in e-commerce », insists the manager. And this, even if physical commerce has attracted consumers again since the end of the coronavirus crisis. Today, some 16,000 French SMEs sell their products online via Amazon.
