Geneva politicians are eagerly awaiting the SIG press conference tomorrow. From left to right, everyone wants light to be shed on overbilling and family hiring. Some are calling for the resignation of Christian Brunier.

The eyes of the Geneva political sphere are riveted on GIS. the cases of overbilling and the hiring of four close associates of the general director, the deputies are unanimous. Everyone wants transparency.

Were the questionable recruitments carried out in accordance with the processes? What about the 22 million overcharged to Genevans? Politicians are waiting for concrete answers from Chairman of the Board Robert Cramer.

Christian Brunier leaving?

For the MCG and the PLR, Christian Brunier’s position is no longer tenable. “Mr. Brunier has a credibility problem, resignation would be honorable for him,” says President François Baertschi (MCG). “If the general director took a step aside, the time to clarify the various matters that have arisen, it would be a step towards restoring confidence,” said PLR Pierre Nicollier.

The remaining parties do not wish to draw hasty conclusions. For The Center, Liberty and Social Justice and the Greens, we must wait for the reaction of the Board of Directors. The SVP wishes, for the moment, to let the Control Management work. Finally, the Socialist Party considers it “completely premature” to talk about the resignation of the Director General of SIG.

Beyond the matters already known, some elected officials are wondering about the finances of public administration. “What’s next? Was a bonus paid to the general management, these are elements that we would like to know,” underlines MP Stefan Balaban (LJS), member of the Committee on Energy and Industrial Services.

The questions and doubts are numerous. The SIGs promised clarification. Their speech will be followed live this Tuesday from 10:55 a.m. on Léman Bleu.
