A French national already convicted of sexual crimes against a child in Montreal has just seen his sentence increased by One year in prison for distributing child porn, including a video involving one of his victims.
“The court feels disgust for the actions taken by the accused, it involves vulnerable children, we must ensure their safety,” said Judge Martin Chalifour, just before sentencing Julien Mahieu this Monday at the Montreal courthouse.
Just after, Mahieu, 37, received an additional year to the six years he is already serving for crimes committed against a child close to him, around 2021.
At the time, Mahieu was working in restaurants after arriving from France. He then met parents in order to abuse their child to whom he showed child pornography, in addition to exposing himself to him and encouraging him to have sexual contact.
The little one, whose age was not specified this Monday, fortunately spoke about it to his mother, who alerted the authorities. And when he pleaded guilty last year, the pedophile learned the hard way that Canadian justice takes no joke with child abuse, since he was sentenced to six years in prison.

By searching his phone, the police discovered 4,833 images and 624 videos, the majority involving boys aged up to 12, some of whom had not even celebrated their first birthday.
“One of the videos depicted a baby a few months old,” Christine Desjarlais of the Crown explained to the court. They were images of children engaged in explicit sexual activity. »
And one of the videos showed Mahieu’s victim in his sexual abuse case, but in the company of another man.
“So this child was abused by more than one person,” the judge gravely noted.
Accused of possession and transmission of child pornography, Mahieu finally pleaded guilty, which resulted in an increase in the sentence he is already serving, and which could slow down his deportation process.
“He wants it to be done as quickly as possible,” said his lawyer, Me Fanie Lacroix.
