New boss of the health network: Christian Dubé unveils his “Top Gun” of the Santé Québec agency
Descriptive text here

The Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, will reveal Monday afternoon the name of the person selected to head Santé Québec, the brand new agency which will now oversee the entire network.

The media were invited for an announcement in Quebec, to reveal the identity of the new president and chief executive officer (PCD) of this agency who will take over from the ministry for the entire operational aspect of the health network.

The Council of Ministers met in an extraordinary manner on Monday morning to make this appointment.

Christian Dubé had declared that he was looking for a “Top Gun”, probably from the private sector, to be the first person to occupy this highly strategic position in his reform of the health network.

The opening of applications also aroused great enthusiasm: Quebec received the CVs of 61 people interested in taking the reins of the new agency.

It must be said that the new PCD will pocket a generous salary of $652,050 for his first two years at the head of Santé Québec, more than the boss of Hydro-Québec.

This is a base salary of $567,000, to which will be added a 15% bonus for the first two years “for the establishment of Santé Québec”.

According to our information, Minister Dubé will also announce a second appointment on Monday, the title of which is not known at the moment.

More details will follow…
