Here are the explanations
Since this morning, 5:30 a.m., the Henri IV highway has been congested due to an incident that occurred on the Henri IV highway heading north near Chemin Sainte-Foy.
According to the Sûreté du Québec, a truck suffered a mechanical breakdown causing a large oil spill on the road.
According to our information, the spill came from a telescopic mast of a bucket truck.
Due to the spill, the authorities had no choice but to close two out of three lanes in order to clean the roadway. The situation caused a significant slowdown and congestion for several kilometers.
The impact on traffic was felt on Highway 20 in Lévis as you can see in the Google Maps screenshot at 10 a.m. this morning.
According to what Zone911 observed on site, at 10:00 a.m. the cleaning of the roadway was continuing, but appeared to be ending, as part of the second lane was about to be reopened.
