A swimming pool in Nancy, opened last year after a significant investment, remained closed on Sunday morning, the water from the Olympic pool emptying abnormally into a technical room, report our colleagues from Republican East.

Two-thirds of the 1,400 m3 of water present in the Olympic pool flowed abnormally into a technical room of the installation, creating a flood to a height of 80 cm.

The complex, called Nancy Thermal, required four years of work and an investment of nearly 100 million euros to emerge from the ground. It was inaugurated a year ago.

“No danger for local residents”

The situation “presents no danger for residents of the neighborhood,” said the metropolis.

The firefighters were mobilized. The operator, Valvital, is waiting for the pumping to end to make a diagnosis of the origin of the disaster.

No reopening date has been set at this stage, it will take place when the “incident” is resolved. “The spa and wellness facilities” remain open.

The space dedicated to spa treatments at the Nancy Thermal complex also experienced setbacks last year, opening late in July, only to close in August following technical problems.

The complex is made up of an “Aquasport” section, where the pool affected by this technical malfunction is located, a “Health” area for thermal treatments and a “well-being” area with spa.
