The population of Gouye Mouride, civil society actors and market gardeners of Lendeng came out en masse this Sunday to safeguard the Agro-ecological zone of Lendeng. Originally, these market gardeners have been opposing for several weeks the construction of a gas station and a football field in the middle of their fields, an area declared a non-aedificandi (non-buildable) zone by the president. However, the Mayor had promised the market gardeners several times that he would never sign an authorization in the Lendeng fields because of its destination.
