The French singles champion, originally from Alsace, won the first two sets. Then, menée 7-0 in the third round, she was able to reverse the trend : “I just said to myself ‘try to scratch point by point’, she has to take her time out and then I go get the set.”
The TTSQ had revenge to take on the Entente Saint-Pierraise. “The only game we lost, the first of this year, was against this team“, recalls Olga Mikhaylovacoach who specifies that to win, the team did a lot of work “tactical” And “psychological“.
For Linda Bergström, a Swedish international who arrived in Saint-Quentin last year, the understanding within the team makes the difference: “We always fight for each other. If one of us isn’t in the best shape, the others are. I think that was the key to winning this season.“
